When we were first approached by Wescover to do an interview about our work and to share a portfolio on their website, we were so honored for the opportunity! Wescover is an amazing company, partnered with Google Lens, dedicated to bringing artists, creators, designers, and art appreciators together to discover original pieces in real-life spaces. Here is a snippet of the full Q&A:
Q: How do your pieces come to life? Tell us one interesting thing about your creative process?
A: I select a few colors and a base texture from which to begin my exploratory journey. Layering the paint over a period of weeks and months is the key to accentuating the “map” of texture that will ultimately reveal the potential of each painting. One technique is to run a pallet knife or brush over the raised bumps of a moderately dry paint to capitalize on the texture already infused into the surface of the canvas.
Q: What do you want people to do or feel when they encounter your creations?
A: My work is widely open to interpretation given its abstract forms. The paintings are generally meant to invoke positive energy and take the viewer on a "journey.”
You can follow us there and keep tabs on where we're hanging out (and maybe even at a spot near you!) Hope to see you there!
