Jill Krutick will be a featured artist in a solo exhibition, “Thalassa,” at the Oak & Oil Gallery located in the heart of downtown Katonah, New York from September 7 to October 12, 2024. Krutick was asked to continue exhibiting through November with a wide array of works. Thalassa is the general word for 'sea' and for its divine female personification in Greek mythology. Thalassa was the primordial ancient Greek goddess of the sea. The works to be exhibited all celebrate the sea from Dreamscape to the colorful Coral Reef series. Raising awareness of our environment is a central focus of Jill’s work — from the Aridification watercolors (the drying of the earth), to the peaceful environment of Shangri la, to 2023’s solo museum exhibition, which featured an 84-foot-long Coral Beliefs. Coral Beliefs examines the impact of global warming on the underwater world of coral reefs in an abstract, 25-panel, collage-based work of art.
OPENING RECEPTION & ARTIST TALK: Saturday, September 21st 4:00 - 7:30pm.
