The National Arts Club will be hosting its annual Exhibiting Artist Members (EAM) show this spring, running from May 12 to June 15. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, May 12th from 6-8PM. During the run of the show, two special EAM evenings will be scheduled for the artists to gather and connect. Jill Krutick will be discussing her career and artwork at a talk on June 6th. The artist discussions will begin at 6pm and are only open to exhibiting artist members of The National Arts Club.
Jill Krutick will be featuring her piece, Thalassa, 2021 (40 x 40 inches, mixed media on canvas) at the upcoming event. Thalassa is a painting that celebrates the goddess of the sea who produced the fish and other sea creatures. Manifested as sea-water rising, this work captures the changing beauty of the sea. Paper and plastic collage together with watercolor, acrylic and oil-based mediums are incorporated into a dynamic layering process to add a unique textural surface. The shapes, colors and movement are designed to raise awareness about the threats to our waters.
